How it works

  1. Pick a language and a pace

    Portuguese from Brazil or Portugal, one to five new words a day.

  2. Add the widget once

    Hold your lock screen, tap Customize, add EveryGlance. It takes a minute and we walk you through it.

  3. Look at your phone as usual

    The word stays under the clock for hours. Seeing it again and again, without ever deciding to study, is what makes it stay with you.

Why repetition beats lessons

Language apps ask you to show up. You open them, do a session, feel good, and a few weeks later you stop. EveryGlance asks for nothing. The word is there when you check the time, when you read a message, when you're waiting for a coffee.

It doesn't swap words every time you look. Repetition is the point — a word stays on screen for hours before the next one takes its place, and old words come back later to make sure they stuck.

What is EveryGlance?

EveryGlance is a widget for your lock screen or home screen. It shows one Portuguese word, its meaning, and a short example for hours at a time. You learn it by seeing it, not by opening an app.

Does it need the internet?

No. Once you've installed the app and picked a language, the widget works entirely offline. Nothing needs to load, and nothing needs a connection to keep showing you words.

Is there a subscription?

No. EveryGlance is one price, paid once on the App Store or Google Play. There's no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no free tier with limits attached.

What languages are available at launch?

Portuguese, in two complete variants: Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese. Spanish, French, and German are planned to follow.

How does the widget update?

Your phone's operating system refreshes the widget on a schedule the app sets in advance — roughly every few hours, all day. The app never needs to be open for this to happen.
